Thread: SiriusWM6

  1. Default SiriusWM6

Here is a Sirius player for Windows Mobile 6.
I also added the Windows Desktop Version.

Thanks for being patent with all the updates.
My goal is to have a error free program.
The current look and feel is going to be the finished product.
    I like the simplicity.
    How to use:
You must have a Sirius Internet account.

    Settings:
    1. Use popup channel list - allows the channel list to pop up to the top of the player while searching for channels. To use this feature press your dpads up or down arrow. To make it retract back down press the dpads left or right key, or wait a few seconds and it will automatically retract. You can also click on the Channel list Column headers to pop up the channel list.

    2. Auto start - This will automatically launch the player at the time configured. The player must not be running for auto start to work. Use the sleep function to automatically close the player if needed.

    3. Use Visible Media Player- Uses Windows media player as a popup instead of the built in player.

    4. Auto Update What's Playing - Shows you the currently playing song. This also will update the whats playing channel list automatically.

    5. CD Quality Stream - This will increase the bitrate which could cause skipping.

    6. Play on Start up - The player will play the previously played last channel on start up.

    7. Auto off Backlight - The display turns off after 30 seconds. The D-Pad turns your display back on.

    8. Toolbar Icon Size - This will scale the toolbar and channel images smaller.

    9. Use TCPMP - Uses TCPMP instead of the built in player.

    Toolbar:
Click on the Toolbar to sort or filter the channel list. If you are using the internal player you can also adjust the volume from the toolbar. You can also stop the player. Press the left or right dpad keys to navigate the toolbar. Press the dpad enter key to select the toolbar option.

    File Menu:

Stop - Stops the player without closing the application. Option is only available when using the internal player.

Manage Favorites - After selecting this option, chech the checkbox next to the channels you would like in your favorite channels list.

Clear History - Clears the history

Update Channel List - Logs into Sirius.com and download the channel list. It will only download the channels you have access to, using the account you entered in your settings. The channel update can take a while.

Settings - Opens the settings dialog.

View > What's playing > On - adds the currently playing content list to the channel list.

View > What's playing > Refresh - Refreshes the whats playing list.

View > Favorites - Only displays previously saved favorite channels.

View > History - Only displays the previously played channels in the order they were played. Sorting is turned off.

Sort by > No sort - Turns off sorting

    Sort by > Channel #

    Sort by > Channel name

Auto Start / Sleep - Enable auto launch at a specific time and / or close after a specific amount of time.

If you loose your web connection it no longer forces you to acknowlege several error messages, I removed them.

    Mobile v2.4.11.3

It's possible to loose your connection to the web so the sirius server logs you out, but the player still thinks its logged in. If the player thinks its logged in, and an error occurs trying to select a channel, the player will attempt to log you back into sirius before throwing an error message.

I increased the screen off timer to 2 minutes.

    Updated 3-14-2010
    Mobile v2.4.9.0
    Desktop v2.3.9.0

Added a whats playing feature so you can see whats on before selecting a channel.

NOTE: This is VERY IMPORTANT!!. This new feature takes band width. If you leave the channel list what's playing feature turned on, you might notice the player pausing and buffering. I would recommend turning off the channel list whats playing. Feel free to leave the Auto Update What's Playing feature in the settings on. However, if you still get burrefering and skipping you can turn this off as well.

Please report back any bugs you find. I needed to push this out sooner than I wanted because of the login issue.

Thank you so much for sorting this out, I have been following the thread all week and I know about the speed bumps along the way. My only complaint was going to be the no shortcut in programs but luckily I refreshed before posting

    1000 thank you's sir.

You're the best! Dave's awesome too. I remember back in '06 when he was developing the original wm5 version on another forum.

As tempting as the iphone and droids phones are, I'm sticking with windows mobile devices solely based on this great program.

It's been a godsend for streaming sirius and Howard. Can't wait to try this version out. Thanks so much!
